Hello Peg and Rod and Brock and Gen
Thank you so much for our lovely stay
at your country haven.Dave and Rob
and I enjoyed that first weekend so-o much - indeed
it was the highlight of our trip.I smile as I look at
our pictures... The cabin we had was #10 and it lived
up to it!
"This is to Thank You very much
for the 4 day weekend we just spent with you on June
9, 10, 11, 12, 2011 - Cabin #9. The cabin was great
and well stocked. The veranda was large the gas
BBQ worked great. The picnic table was huge
and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit
and of course the free wood. Thank you for allowing
us to watch the hockey game on Friday night on the big
screen TV - that was an added bonus. The service
in the store and the restaurant was superb and the ladies
doing housekeeping were friendly and always asked if
we needed anything. The fishing was good - not great
but we had fun anyway.
I guess I cannot say thank you enough
for a wonderful 4 days. We will definitely be back -
for sure."
Thanks again,
Neil Griffith & Naomi

Hello
Baker's Narrow Lodge:
"Hi
Folks,
I can honestly say that our trip to Bakers
Narrows Lodge was the best fishing trip
we have ever had. My father and I have been to various
lodges in different locations over the last several
years, each trip produced new personal bests and all
time highs - this trip was no exception. We planned
this trip with Lake Trout fishing as our only
interest, we were not disappointed! We caught fish every
time out, but the highlight came on the fourth day of
our trip. We started out the day with our guide, John,
with talks of a 100 fish day (Lakers). I thought that
to be a bit unrealistic I must admit, however as the
day moved on we began to see that it might be possible.
Sad to say though, we missed our target .... by six
fish, we had 94 Lakers for the day ...... WOW!
We would have made our 100 mark if it wasn't for the
four Master Angler Lakers we caught, they took
up over an hour of our fishing time. Believe me we didn't
mind trading numbers for those trophy fish. First came
one at 38", than another at 41", the very next fish
at 39.25", finally the last fish for the day number
94 at 42". To say the least we were excited, not to
mention a little sore, but well worth it! All in all
it was a memorable trip, from the fantastic fishing
to the beautiful surroundings, great meals and service,
and comfortable lodging. When asked did I have mixed
emotions about leaving to go home I had to answer "No",
as I certainly felt like I was home. Thanks for a great
trip, and wonderful memories. We're hoping to see you
again next season."

"I have been a guest at Bakers Narrows Lodge 5 times during the last 3 years and plan to continue coming to this facility for many more fishing seasons. The facilities, amenities, service, guiding and fishing are all without parallel in my experience at fishing lodges in northern Canada.
Lake Athapapaskow is by far the best lake for lakers that I have ever fished, and the walleye fishing in the fly-out lakes can be spectacular. In June of 2007, I managed, with the help of our guide John, to catch and land a 41 pound lake trout, the single best fishing experience I have ever enjoyed.
On a fly-out with my father, and our guide Eelco, we caught and released over 150 walleye in one day - unbelievable action. As a family, we have also caught the 5 or 6 largest pike we have ever caught anywhere. I would highly recommend Bakers Narrows Lodge to anyone for any sort of fishing trip, be it a family vacation or a guy's "fish 'til you drop" weekend."

Experience the North Tour "A fantastic, unique adventure. The setting was perfect, with quaint log cabins, generous hosts, good food and marvelous facilities and amenities. I had a great time and I will not forget this trip."

"I
picked your resort “out of the blue” 5 years
ago when Claudia and I wanted to celebrate our 30th
wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed, and that
fishing trip still remains as probably the best vacation
we have ever had! And, we’ve been on a lot of
vacations. Incidentally, Claudia didn’t ask me
if I wanted to return to Bakers
Narrows Lodge,
she told me! That is why we are coming back for our
35th wedding anniversary. You folks
are great and we can’t forget the good time we
had before. We have looked forward to this trip for
the past 5 years! See you next week!" Kirk

"I just wanted to let you know
how much I enjoyed my stay at Bakers
Narrows Lodge last
week. I decided to make the trip since my Dad did it
with his buddies back in the early 1960's, and he always
told us how much fun he had.Once I smelled the fresh
air when we landed at Flin Flon Airport, I knew it would
be a new and wonderful adventure. I run a service oriented
company, and I was very impressed with the "service
first" attitude from your family. Brock and Brett
were very accommodating to the "Jersey Boys",
and they made our time on the lakes very relaxing and
enjoyable. I'll never forget the look on Brett's face
when he saw the tail of the half eaten 18" Pike
in the mouth of my 36" Pike. I
kept telling Jen that she needs to write out a new Job
Description, since I saw her do everything from organizing
the daily fishing trips to cleaning off the breakfast
tables. I enjoyed Rod's easy manner and his sharing
of information on the area. Peg, you were great, especially
after you sent Rod out to get my wine!!!! Again, it
was a great trip and a very relaxing time with your
exceptional family. Thanks" Clint Lynch,

"The staff and overall hospitality puts this lodge two marks above the others! The shore lunch is a big plus to the outing. I will be back with my family." Chris Boyson, Washington
"I've been to Canada at least 30 - 40 times in the past 45 years and I can honestly say this is the best ever. Five of those trips were to fly-in lakes, and this is still the best. It's a top notch, first class operation. They were always willing to be helpful and had a friendly and welcoming attitude." Vern Greenlee, Ohio
"Overall.without exception after numerous
trips to Canada for fishing and hunting, I can safely
say that Bakers
Narrows Lodge is
by far superior to any of my other trips north." Jim
Carr, Missouri
"Sept 14th on a fly-out I caught a
33" and 41" Northern Pike. Also several Walleye of substantial
size. Our guide prepared an excellent shore lunch and
all in all it was a great day. Kudos to Bakers
Narrows Lodge !
Great hospitality and excellent fishing. An adventure
I'll definitely remember for the rest of my life." Murray
Anderson, Saskatchewan
"My stay at Bakers
Narrows Lodge was
great! The staff was outstanding! Everyone was friendly,
helpful and courteous. And the fishing! At least 50
Pike per day! Some approaching 20 lbs! I would say that
the fish, the staff and the food make Bakers Narrows
Lodge an unbeatable value for your fishing dollar."
Mark Taylor, Washington
"Wonderful time and the very best of hospitality. An unknown jewel in the North. I hope to be back very soon." Glen Nicklas, Saskatchewan
"The best part of BNL is the people. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I love the cabins. Having real logs in the structure just completes the experience. They were the perfect size and layout. We live in a log home and can appreciate the "warmth" of a good log structure. The light fixtures are very nice, but the lighting is a little dark, perhaps more table lamps would help. The guides were great and seemed to be very environmentally conscious. We were here (due to our own calendar restrictions) at probably the worst time for fishing but still caught plenty of fish and had a great time. The boats are perfect - not overdone, and certainly well-maintained, with good motors, adequate depth finder and the flat floor really made the day more pleasant after several hours in the boat." Dave Downs, New Hampshire
"Your cabins are very accessible to your lodge and boat launch, with good heat and excellent hot water and refrigeration at your fingertips. The beds are comfortable and the satellite TV makes for relaxing evenings. Time didn't allow us to use the fire pit, horseshoe pit or barbeque. Our guide was very friendly, helpful and made our fly-in most enjoyable. Our fishing day started out slow, but as he selected different hooks, etc., we were able to enjoy a tasty shore lunch. The extra rain gear he brought along was thoughtful, as it rained late in the day. The pilot was very friendly and informative. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and efficient. The food was plentiful and I enjoyed the soups and roast beef special the most. We were unable to try the dessert menu, as the main course usually left no room!
I also enjoyed the 25 hp Nissan motors on the 16 ft boat for its ease of operation. In summary, this lodge has a well-selected work force which is family oriented." Russ Kachur, Saskatchewan
"Brock did a great job with us. I think that the best thing that you can bring to your customer is not always fishing, but personality. Thanks Brock, nice job". Win Farnsworth, Colorado
"This may come off an an advertisement..but
I don't care! My neighbour Jane and I just returned
from Bakers
Narrows Lodge near
Flin Flon, Manitoba. Neither of us had ever taken a
trip such as this before. It has always been a dream
of mine and it has finally come true! I don't think
we could have picked a better place for our first remote
fishing experience. A little background first: The lodge
is located on Lake Athapapuskow in northern Manitoba.
You may choose to either drive or fly in. We drove and
had no problem getting there or finding the lodge. It
is run by the Baynton family. When we arrived it was
like being welcomed into their family and home. The
cabins are clean, comfortable and modern with a full
kitchen, gas grill, full bathroom, satellite TV and
all the comforts of home. The cost of the stay includes
the boat, 4 stroke motor and all the gas you need, three
squares a day, one guided fly-in and all the hospitality
you can handle!! We didn't count our fish, but probably
averaged close to 75 a day. Lake Athapapuskow offers
Northern Pike, Walleye, Perch and Lake Trout. It is
a very healthy, clean lake. The lodge has rights to
approximately 15 other remote, fly-in lakes. Once you
arrive, if you already have all the tackle you need,
all you have to spend money on is bait and alcoholic
beverages. I was so impressed with the lodge and their
staff that I felt compelled to let you all know what
a wonderful job the Baynton family is doing." Paul
Santis - submitted testimonial to North American
Fishing Magazine.
