Day 1
Arrive by air. Shuttle to lodge from
airport. Check in.
Lunch at lodge.
Orientation at Restaurant: Scheduling & choice of activities
Bakers Narrows Lodge – Exploring the North
– Winter Tour
3:00 p.m. Walk through park. Climb tower. Show Nature Trail.
5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Dinner at Lodge.
7:00 p.m. Slide Presentation of the History of Flin
Flon. Gain an insight into the challenges faced by the early settlers
to the area.
9:00 p.m. Retire to Cabin. Use Hot Tub or enjoy
playing some of our numerous table games (crib, air hockey, scrabble
etc). Don’t forget to watch for the Aurora Borealis.
Day 2
8:00
– 9:00 a.m. Breakfast in the Lodge
9:00
a.m. Fly-out to remote Trapper’s Cabin for an overnight stay,
featuring snowshoeing along an actual trap line, beautiful scenery,
and entertaining commentary from our seasoned guide. He may even
give a reading from one of his books.
Day
3
Return from overnight at Trappers Cabin
by noon. Lunch at Lodge. Travel to Northern Buffalo Sculptures Art
Gallery for a look at some wonderful Native Art and to get an idea
of where the inspiration comes from for the pieces.
6:00-8:00 Dinner at Lodge. Enjoy a Willow Furniture
Making Demonstration before retiring to your cabin, or to enjoy
the Aurora Borealis from the Hot Tub.
Day 4
8:00-9:00
Breakfast at the Lodge.
Enjoy a day of guided snowmobiling along groomed trails. Stop for
a campfire lunch. Lots of wonderful photo opportunities –
scenery, wildlife, birds.
6:00-10:00 p.m. After a sumptuous dinner, we will learn about a
native art form – Caribou Hair Tufting and actually have the
opportunity to make our own picture to take home.
Day 5
8:00-9:00 Breakfast at the Lodge
Today we will try our hand at Dog Sledding. We travel to a local
musher’s kennel where he will take you on a ride behind the
dogs. It is truly a unique winter experience. From there we’ll
go to the Flin Flon Museum or take you shopping and for lunch in
Flin Flon, returning late afternoon.
6:00-9:00 p.m. Enjoy Dinner at the Lodge. We’ll show a video
of some spectacular Northern Lights before your retire for the evening
to your cabin, or to the Hot Tub.
Day 6
8:00-9:00 a.m. Breakfast at the Lodge
Today we’ll try our hand at ice fishing. Some in the group
will fish while others take a ride on a legendary Bombadier.
Alternatively, some of the group might like to try their hand at
learning to carve, with renown sculptor, Irvin Head.
Lunch will be at the lodge
6:00-8:00 A super wind-up dinner featuring unique “made in
Manitoba” entrees. Swap stories of your adventures and retire
early to fly out in the a.m.
7:00-8:00 a.m. Breakfast at the Lodge.
8:00-8:30 a.m. Shuttle to airport for trip home.
